The Women's Resource Agency offers a variety of classes and workshops to help women learn new skills and vital information, as well as form new friendships.

Computer Classes
Our computer classes are geared toward beginners, although more experienced computer users will find them helpful and informative as well. The atmosphere is fun and safe; with only three or four students per class, each woman gets the individual attention she needs and deserves. We will not let you get left behind! Our classes consist of a two hour hands-on class and a two-hour practice lab session at a later date. The classes are a great way to familiarize yourself with a program in a short amount of time.
Introduction to Computers with Windows

This class covers basic information about opening programs and organizing files, including:
- Turning the computer on and off
- Using the mouse
- Opening, closing, and working with programs
- Saving and organizing files in folders
Introduction to the Internet and Email

Now that some companies will only accept on-line applications, and some employers may want resumes emailed to them, knowing how to use the Internet and Email is crucial. We cover the very basics of using the Internet to search for jobs and emailing a resume to an employer.
Introduction to Microsoft Word

To to type a resume or cover letter on the computer, one must use a word processing program such as Microsoft Word. This class gives and introduction to word processing and includes:
- Text formatting (how the text looks)
- Spacing and other paragraph formatting
- Adding bullets and line numbering
- Opening and Saving
- Checking the spelling
- How to change margins and the page orientation
- And more!
Introduction to Microsoft Excel

Excel is a Spreadsheet program that has replaced the ledger book. Excel can be used to create budgets, invoices, grade calculation, commission sheets, and more. This class covers the information needed to create your own spreadsheet from scratch, including:
- Entering Data
- Sorting Data
- Entering equations for Excel to perform (Formulas)
- Using Functions such as Sum, Average, or Maximum
- Making the spreadsheet look and print as you want it to
- Shortcuts that to use Excel more quickly
Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint

PowerPoint is a presentation program used to create presentations shown on a computer or projector as well as audience handouts, slides, overheads, and more. The class includes:
- Adding text, pictures, movies and sounds to slides
- Animating graphics and text
- Adding transition effects between slides
- Creating charts and graphs
- Setting timings so that slides advance automatically
Introduction to Microsoft Publisher

Publisher is used to create documents such as brochures, flyers, business cards, calendars, and other documents that can be difficult to create in Word. Publisher makes it easy to move text and graphics around on a page so that it looks exactly how you want it. The class covers such topics as:
- Adding text and graphics
- Changing the size and shape of text boxes and graphics
- Using design templates to add style to your document
- Using Wizards to automatically create things such as calendars and brochures
New Chapters
New Chapters is a book group that meets on the fourth Thursday of the month to discuss a common book. The first part of the group is a discussion of the book (it may be helpful to jot down a few observations or questions), and the second part is social.

Transitions
Transitions is a group designed to give women from all walks of life the opportunity to socialize with one another while learning about a certain topic of interest. Some of the past topics have included floral arranging, maintaining your car, creative writing, and buying a house.
Family Law in Colorado
WRA invites a lawyer to come, speak, and answer questions regarding family issues such as divorce and custody. This workshop is invaluable for women in these difficult and confusing situations.
